What Happens With Staged Hotel Photography
The Room Looks Larger
Wide-angle lenses stretch rooms visually. A 16m² room can look like 30m². You only discover this when you open the door.
The View Is Misleading
"Bosphorus view" can mean a distant sliver between two buildings. "Sea view" can mean a parking lot with the sea visible at the horizon. Photos never show you the angle honestly.
The Bathroom Is Hidden
Bathrooms are the most complained-about part of any hotel stay. Most OTAs show one photo — shot to hide the grout, the age, the actual condition.
The Light Is Artificial
Professional hotel photography uses studio lighting setups that make dark rooms look bright and warm. What you experience is natural light — or the absence of it.
The Photos Are Old
Hotels upload photos once — then never update them. A photo from 2019 shows you a room that may have been renovated, repainted, or simply worn out since then.
